Jun Fan Gung Fu Jeet Kune Do (JKD) Program
Jun Fan Gung Fu Jeet Kune Do class is a combination of Bruce Lee’s Jun Fan Gung Fu /Jeet Kune Do, Wing Chun, Filipino Arts of Kali / Silat, Thai Boxing and grappling from Silat, Pedro Sauer Gracie Jiu Jitsu and Erik Paulson’s Combat Submission Wrestling. The first six to nine months the students will be introduced to boxing and kicking skills with portions of grappling and weapon work. As the student grows, he or she may find an area they want to devote more time to than another because of preference or lack of ability in a particular area. For example, they may decide to take extra classes in Kali or the ground work. The JKD 2 class will have more emphasis in the Wing Chun area as well as advancing in the other areas of training such as the Filipino Martial Arts.
Students will learn punches, kicking, elbows, and knees along with the different ranges all of those tools cover. Thai Boxing develops speed and power and is at the top of the list for cardiovascular endurance. Even if you are a runner, kicking the Thai Pads will challenge your cardio endurance.
As the student advances they will be evaluated in three areas: Attitude, Attendance, Performance, and Skill to graduate to the next level. After four to six months the student may be invited to upgrade to the next level.
