Martial Arts Is An Exciting, Positive Passion To Have!
There are many choices when it comes to martial arts. Trying to decide if you want Karate, Boxing, Judo, Aikido, Krav Maga, Wing Chun, Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Japanese Jiu Jitsu, or mixed Martial arts can be overwhelming. Education on the various arts, their specialty, and what benefit they will give you is what beginning students need to research. Do you want competition, Street Self Defense, or just to learn something while you’re working on your fitness?
These are all questions potential students need to ask themselves.
Martin Academy of Martial Arts, (MAMA) wants you, your family and friends to discover positive new experiences that will open up to you through marital arts training at our academy. Through martial arts training at MAMA, students will find positive, new, self-discovery experiences, they will develop and open up not only in their training but in other areas of life. We have a family atmosphere that helps students realize this is the laboratory where you discover what will work for you in a street life and death situation. Not everything will work for everyone. It’s also important to be aware of things that may not fit your body or you’ll be taken be surprise by the unfamiliar.
Our goal is to give students the ability to respond to what’s happening to them as every encounter is different. We want to teach the students to be able to adapt to what is taking place instead of being a robot and trying to have one answer that fits all scenarios for personal safety.
Top Martial arts instructors such as Sifu /Guro Dan Inosanto, Sifu Francis Fong, Ajarn Chai Sirisute, Sensei Erik Paulson, Prof Alan Baker, the Machado Brothers, Prof Pedro Sauer are the foundation for the material taught at MAMA. Instructors at MAMA are required to update their training and continue their education. Sifu Dan Inosanto, LaVonne Martin’s instructor, best friend and protégé of the late Bruce Lee, continues to train today at 89.
Our job is to help guide you in the appropriate direction but not dictate it. For your path may be different than the person standing next to you. It’s not only what type of information that is taught, but how. What may work for you may not work for the next person. Many schools do not have the education to individualize the material taught. Besides the information, the atmosphere of the school, the attitude of the other students you will be training with, and the instructors are what is important. That’s why we’re committed to providing the highest quality marital arts instruction and training, in a positive, encouraging, disciplined environment.
To be accepted into this academy one must go through an interview, possess the correct attitude and a commitment to train. Come in for a short consultation, maybe do a trial class to see if Martin Academy is the place for you. And at the very least, you will get some education on various disciplines and see if what’s important to you, will fit with what’s important in the academy.
