COMBAT SUBMISSION WRESTLING

Combat Submission Wrestling

Martin Academy of Martial Arts Combat Submission Wrestling Program (CSW) teaches a curriculum formulated by Erik Paulson, former world light heavyweight Shooto champion. Erik Paulson is the three-time World Shooto Champion, the only American to ever achieve this. CSW encompasses three areas, Kickboxing, Clinching, Throwing, Wrestling and Grappling without the gi or kimona.  Students will work on becoming proficient in striking, takedowns, and submissions using a combat proven curriculum.   The curriculum is a blend of techniques and concepts from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai & STX (Savate-Thai Cross training), Lethwei Kickboxing, Freestyle, and Greco-Roman wrestling, Shoot wrestling, Judo, Sambo, and Catchascatchcan, as well as striking from Boxing and Western Kickboxing. The CSW system has produced champions in both Pride and the UFC. Many of today’s top level MMA fighters trained in C.S.W. including Sean Sherk, Josh Barnet and Ken Shamrock.  Recently the Ruotolo Brothers have taken the MMA and Submission Grappling to championship levels as well.

The focus of the MAMAs CSW Program is to master basic techniques, drills, and have the ability to flow from ranges and positions, escape each position and have both upper body and lower body submissions.

The CSW Program is one of the most complete mixed martial arts programs anywhere. Taught in a safe, high energy training environment, it gives you one of the best and most effective workouts available.
